Jimmy Page is perhaps best known as rock and roll’s most influential guitar players. His guitar solos alone probably occupy a significant space in every rock fan’s heart. That being said, it is hardly surprising to find that he is one of the main subjects of the documentary film It Might Get Loud.
Like with most genius musicians, Page has had extensive experience using his trademark instrument, with his childhood days spent playing in a skiffle band. Of course, this does not mean to say that he spent his whole life playing it. In fact, for a brief period of time, he even decided to retire his guitar.
Luckily, this did not stick. Dipping his toes in music once again, Jimmy Page started playing as a session guitarist. However, he soon came to realize the fact that this was severely stifling his own creative growth. This frustration is what ultimately spurred his efforts to start writing his own songs.
Needless to say, Jimmy Page would soon become part of iconic bands such as the Yardbirds and Led Zeppelin. Nowadays, he is known mostly as one of rock’s greatest innovators.
